The Technology Behind Gameland VR: Meta Quest 3 and Millimeter Tracking
The quality of a VR experience fundamentally depends on the hardware used. Gameland VR made no compromises: we use Meta Quest 3, the most advanced standalone headset currently available for consumers, with professional modifications for free-roam.
Meta Quest 3: What Makes It Special
2K resolution per eye with high-efficiency LCD display: Quest 3 headsets offer exceptional visual clarity, drastically reducing the 'screen door effect' that ruined the first generations of VR. You can read small text and see distant details clearly.
6DOF inside-out tracking: six sensors integrated in the headset track position and orientation with millimeter precision without the need for external base stations. The system updates position 90 times per second, ensuring smooth and natural movement.
Color passthrough: the integrated camera allows you to see the real world in acceptable quality when needed — useful for our staff to assist players during the session.
Our Additional Tracking System
For sessions with 6-8 players, we integrate a supplemental ultra-wideband (UWB) tracking system that ensures correct mapping of all players in the arena, eliminating possible tracking conflicts when many people move in the same space.
Spatial Audio
Each headset features integrated speakers optimized for 3D spatial audio. Sounds come from exactly the correct direction in the virtual environment. This detail, often underestimated, is fundamental for total immersion.
